4 out of 5 stars Amazing product, Great deal, A few drawbacks...   September 4, 2008

This bag is amazing! As of right now I have in my bag: 1 Canon Rebel XT body, one Rebel K2 body, four lenses, 12 rolls of film, 4 spare batteries, a cable release, a car charger for the batteries, 2 rain panchos (one for me and one for my camera :-) a hat, and a point-and-shoot digital, as well as all of my reciepts and instruction manuals for all of the above listed stuff. Then I have a tripod hanging off the bottom, which leads me to the drawbacks:

The straps that are on the outside only have the little "slide adjuster thingies," so to get the tripod off and on is a bit of a hassle. I made a quick fix out of this by replacing these with velcro; a step that I highly recommend.

Also, it is a bit of a hassle to get things in and out of this bag, since you have to take the bag off completely to get to the main pocket.

My final verdict: BUY THIS BAG!! For the price, you will not be disappointed! After a few quick (and cheap) modifications, this bag will suite every purpose you need it to without fail!

Happy Shooting!

5 out of 5 stars Great bag for the price   September 4, 2008

At less than a third of the price of the Lowepro Minitrekker, this is a great bag for its price. Although I was initially skeptical that this bag could hold my Sigma 50-500mm mounted on a Nikon D60 (yes a Nikon camera in a Canon bag), this one swallowed it all. I could fit my Sigma 50-500 mounted on my Nikon D60, the Nikon 18-55mm VR lens, a Fuji Finepix S5500, a Bushnell H20 8x42 binoculars in this one with relative ease and still had space to spare. Oh - I didn't mention all the chargers, spare batteries, memory cards, lens caps, filters and the sundry stuff that stuffed in. It has 2 pouches on the sides that could hold water bottle.

4 out of 5 stars been to bulgaria already   September 2, 2008

I was surprised at how quickly the dealer shipped this back pack to me, and the price was about 50% of retail. I loaded it up with Alpha 700, two telephoto lenses, two 55mm lenses, battery charger, spare battery, card reader, mini computer, extra memory cards, plug in inverter, camera manual, usb cord, laptop with charger, chewing gum, and a couple other items, total weight over 17 lbs. Only problem I had was getting through customs who need to see a lap top separately from any thing else..I am extremely pleased with this purchase, and since I shoot lots of sports stuff along with candids as I travel, I expect to eventually find some wear marks, but so far the Bulgaria baptism came out fine......ben

5 out of 5 stars Great Camera/general purpose backpack   August 31, 2008

When I got my Rebel XT recently and a couple lenses to start out with, i thought to myself, "Hmm, what am I going to keep all of this in?" I happened to stumble upon this for about 33$ shipped. After checking out a couple of the side saddle type bags, i decided that i did NOT want one of those. I ended up determining that i wanted a backpack, and the 33$ price tag definitely fit the bill.

I got the bag about 5 days after i ordered it with ground shipping, very fast. It was packed nicely in the box and in the original packaging, of course.

The zippers open very easily, with a smooth pull action. The only complaint I would have about them, is the fact that they sometimes get caught on the material used to guard the zipper on the main clamshell compartment. The drawstring on the front is great for keeping a hooded sweatshirt or small jacket if you're going to be out for a while, or anything else that'll fit into it.
There is more than enough storage space for extra components, filters, batteries, CF cards, whathaveyou in the bag. the main compartment has nice padded dividers that are completely modular, and can be moved around to your specifications. the two tripod rings on the bottom of the bag are also extremely handy if you have a rather small and light tripod to carry. Mine however, is aluminum, and rather bulky, so whenever I walk with the tripod on, it hits me in the rear end/upper thighs. Needless to say- I want a carbon fiber one.
The material on the back is padded with a nice foam feel to it to help soften the bag against your back for any heavy loads. The overall construction of this is superb!
I fit a Rebel XT with a BG-E3 battery grip, 18-55mm II, EF f/1.8, and EF 28-80mm II with about half of the main compartment space left. Anyone with long telephoto lenses, especially L glass, this is the choice for you.
