| Features:
| • | Camera Straps: They are attached to the D-rings on the backpack harness to connect to your SLR and take load off your neck. The straps can easily be turned into a regular camera strap when needed. | | • | TST: Thermo Shield Technology is made of Super Nylon - a Mil-Std, double cord, water and dust proof, high tenacity and abrasion-resistance fabric. Underneath, a cross linked closed cell PR+EVA shield is impact and shock protective providing a comprehensive insulation against cold, heat and moisture. | | • | Modi-Vers: With the Modular Versatile Divider System you can create compartments inside the case to meet your exact requirements. They can be cut with scissors to any desired size You can then attach the newly cut divider to another divider or the walls of the bag with special Hook & Loop connectors. | | • | DP Buckle: The shoulder strap attaches to the bag via this rugged yet lightweight buckle, which accepts either a quick-release hook or the strap itself. Either option ensures that the strap will cross the shoulder at the optimal ergonomic angle to provide comfort and stability. | | • | Element Cover: The Double sided Elements cover protects case and equipment in inclement weather; black side out in rain or snow, and in sun reverse to silver for heat reflection. |

| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The PB-48 is a comprehensive, and stylish camera bag. It is ergonomically engineered, and is TST protected. The main compartment holds a D/SLR in top grip position, while on the two sides you can store lenses, flash or other accessories. Carrying options include, sturdy padded grip handle, shoulder strap, and back loops for waist belt. Padded internal and external pockets can accommodate additional equipment. The bag can also be connected to the Kata S-308 sling platform for an alternative carrying mode, and additional storage space. When caught in the rain, use the elements cover supplied with the bag to protect your equipment, and when in the sun reverse the cover to prevent your equipment from over heating.

A good bag, but I expected more... May 20, 2008 6x9 (Europe) Here comes my critical review of the Kata PB-48 bag.
I am convinced that none of the products is free of "bugs", it is just the quantity [of them], which translates into quality and makes people happy or frustrated.
I was making a choice between this bag and a Lowepro Nova 3, which are nearly the same in size and in price. However, the Kata PB-48 is slightly larger, and this was the qualifier to pull the trigger. This bag is just fine for my DSLR with 16-50 f/2.8 and 50-135 f/2.8 lenses plus a flash. Although the same gear may fit in Nova 3, it will be much more tight.
In general the bag is good, but it is not up to the standards I expected for this price.
Here are a few things which I am not happy with:
1. This bag is not really very well thought through. It is not flexible enough: there are only two dividers in the main compartment. This is definately not sufficient considering the bag's volume. I expected the smaller compartments to be split in two as well. Unlike the Lowepro Nova bags, the Kata dividers will not allow you to attach any additional Velcro dividers without modifying the first, as they are just flat Nylon.
2. Quality of the materials used is below my expectations and the overal "built quality" is lower than offered by the competition. It is especially true for the bag's strap, which looks quite cheap.
3. The strap does not hold well the adjusted length.
4. The "Turtle Ninja"-like front compartment is fine only until you start filling it in. Then it deforms and the compartment becomes difficult to open (well, actually it is not easy to open it when it is empty too). I would also prefer a zipper with two sliders on it.
Very good camera bag if you have an SLR and a few accessories December 8, 2007 RJ 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am very happy with this bag. The construction is very good, it is well-padded, and it has enough mesh pouches and compartments to be sufficient. It also came with a water-proof cover.
If you have an SLR body, 2 lenses, a flash or some other accessory, then this bag will fit them nicely. Anything more, it might be a stretch.
But if all you have is an SLR body with 1 lens, and you never plan to expand, this will be an overkill. My wife would not touch this bag due its size. Even for me, as an starting enthusiast, if I don't pick up photography big-time, then I will not find the motivation to carry around this bag.
