Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The DR-467 Digital Rucksack features a unique TST RIB structural protection for two D/SLR with mounted lens, 3-4 lenses, flash etc. + personal gear and a laptop. By removing the padded bottom camera insert you can easily convert this rucksack from a camera bag to a daypack when not shooting. The main compartment holds a D/SLR in top grip position while the modular dividers system will separate, organize and protect lenses, flashes and other accessories to suit your particular needs. The dedicated padded laptop compartment will hold and protect up to a 15" laptop. The large top compartment will hold personal gear or additional equipment, and the internal pockets and mp3 player pouch will allow you to organize your personal effects as efficiently as your photographic gear. Ample external pockets allow quick zippered access to supplies and a water bottle/ tripod support pocket pulls out from a side pocket. Included rain cover folds neatly away into an integrated pocket and can be hung out to dry on the small buckle next to the handle, or tucked away for storage in one of the pockets. When carrying, a chest belt and balancing waist strap are available for ultimate comfort, and the rucksack is also compatible with the Kata Insertrolley if wheel along transportation is needed.

5 out of 5 stars HOLY CRAP   November 18, 2008
Joshua C. Mabus (Tupelo, MS)
This is a great bag (for the money)!! I researched a lot of bags at B&H that would hold two SLR bodies and a 17" laptop. Turns out there are few that will hold the latter. Most that hold two SLR bodies and a smaller laptop are 3-4 times the cost of this product.

The pack is well built, and I have NO complaints. HOWEVER, there are a few things that potential buyers should be made aware of.

1. My gear didn't really fit. Here is the list:
-D70 Body
-D300 Body (w/grip)
-SB-800 Flash
-50mm
-70-300mm
-18-55mm
I think the engineers intended for one body to go in the actual PACK on top. This is fine, because it's well padded, but I wanted to use that area for other things.

2. Not a lot of pockets for memory cards, etc. There is an ipod pouch (and a handy hole at the top for earphones), three pen holders, and a large pocket(that holds my field guide). I really liked my Tamrac system that had individual pockets for my CF cards. Now there are in the zippered pocket on the back, and they feel safe. I would just liked having them in their own pockets.

3. It rides a little low on the back. I'm 6'2" and I like to have most of the weight on the top of my shoulders and this is more towards the back. It took some adjusting to get it configured at the optimal comfort level.

Now, with all of that said, here's the skinny. There's ABSOLUTELY NO WAY you can find a bag that beats the value of this bag.

-It's built better than most bags
-Heavily padded (camera area, and back pad for comfort)
-Lots of pockets
-Spacious top bag (lots more than my Tamrac Adventure 7)
-Stow away cup holders (I like this so you don't stag those little mesh things)
-VERY convenient trolley strap
-Holds 17" laptop (Can't find another one that does this).
-With some thought it fits ALL of my gear. I have a mobile office on my back and that's NICE!!

Sorry for the long review, but I wish someone would've taken the time to tell what all I did.

4 out of 5 stars Great Bag...Great Price!   November 17, 2008

I needed a backpack type bag for a trip I just took to Kenya. This bag allowed me to pack my MacBook, Canon XTi, lenses and assorted accessories and gave me room for a few personal items for the flights to and from. The camera compartment is easily accessible and protected my gear wonderfully. I didn't feel like I was fumbling around for stuff while I was in country. It made the trip a lot easier. For hobbyist's this is an outstanding backpack. Pros with large lenses will need something bigger.

4 out of 5 stars great bags to carry camera and laptop   November 16, 2008

Pros:
For sure this bag worth much more than the price. The quality is very good among similar products.

Cons:
The curve is a bit flat and does not fit to the shape of one's back very comfortably. Will be perfect if, more side pockets, pocket on should belts, and bigger upper room.

If you don't need to carry a laptop constantly. I suggest the new kata 3in1 sling/backpack model, it's almost perfect!

5 out of 5 stars Overall very good   November 16, 2008

I purchased this backpack to hold my Nikon D90. It is perfect for my D90 + 18-105 VR lens. There are a lot of more spaces to hold more lens and accessories. The notebook holder is huge which is able to put in a 17'' laptop. I like it very much because I do not need to bring one more bag when I am traveling.

Only thing you need to worry about is the room for bigger lens. I never try a big lens like Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 in this bag and am not sure if the room is enough.

Overall it is a very good camera case for traveling and hiking.

5 out of 5 stars Functional, durable, economical camera bag; ideal for travel   November 2, 2008
S. Reddy
I purchased this bag after extensive research into camera bags in order to take my Nikon D80 and two lenses with me to India. I had planned a two week trip that included additional travel by train, air, bus, taxi, auto-rickshaw, and walking. I therefore needed a bag that was comfortable, able to carry not just my camera gear, but also an iPod, large headphones, a small toiletry kit, and snacks to eat along the way.

When I received the bag a few days before I needed to leave, I packed the items on my list and found that the zippered compartments were well placed and roomy. I appreciated the yellow interiors as it made finding things easy, even in low light situations. I used the chest and waist straps only occasionally, as the shoulder straps made the bag quite stable by themselves.

I really liked the camera compartment that flips out to reveal the body and lenses. Nothing ever fell out while doing this, which was my concern before using this bag. The top compartment is quite roomy and held all that I needed with easy access. For example, while riding on a train I was in the top bunk and could access snacks in the top or my camera in the bottom when the bag was hanging off of a hook. Since I only have an 18-55mm and a 50mm prime, this bag was sufficient. I am not sure if a larger zoom would fit in the lower compartment, but there is sufficient room in the top compartment.

Lastly, I'd just like to mention the attention to detail that made this bag attractive and well worth the price. Most important to me: it doesn't look at all like a camera bag! The stitching and fabric feels very durable. One of the zippered compartments is hidden within a fold of the nylon, which makes it ideal for hiding emergency cash; the zipper pulls are not metal, so they do indeed stay quite while moving (which was mentioned by another reviewer) and they tuck away under rubber stops; the handle on top is very comfy and strong; the shoulder straps are well cushioned and can be worn for hours with little or no discomfort. I even used the included rain cover during an unexpected storm while outdoors!

They seem to have thought of almost everything. The only things I wish they would have included are some straps or zippered pockets within the top compartment for a bit more organization, and a larger water bottle holder on the side. The included holder accommodates only about an 8 oz bottle. But this is minor, as a much larger bottle can fit inside the top compartment. The only wear that can be seen (and I was quite rough with the bag) is that some of the white puffy lettering has fallen off--not a big deal.
