3 out of 5 stars Its Great unless you Scuba   March 20, 2010

Well I went to southern Thailand and I wanted to record it so I bought an HD Flip and this case. Now if your going to be snorkeling or just dont want to ruin your flip its great. When you get to about 20 feet down it doesn't work the pressure is too much for this case. What you have to do is press record on the surface and just record the whole thing and the zoom wont work that deep either and if it turns off your screwed, but for 30 bucks or whatever what can you expect. The good thing about it is I went down 30 feet twice and it still works ,but make sure you keep some wipes on you because the eye gets greasy from suntan oil and you have a bad picture. Ohh and be careful when you delete on flip software you might erase your entire vacation. But it's a good excuse to take another one.

3 out of 5 stars Just Okay   March 8, 2010

This is a fine case if you intend to take above the water videos; however, as an underwater case it is nearly impossible to use. The viewing lens is at best difficult to see underwater...in fact, most of the time you'll be seeing the reflection of the sun, or worse, you and your dive mask reflected by the casing. I attempted to use this case while sailing and snorkeling in the carribean during a two week trip and was never able to get any video that was worth viewing. I have a number of high end underwater cameras ( not video) and have captured some awesome stills so I do know what a good underwater camera is capable of doing. This case is definitely not in that category.

5 out of 5 stars Worked great, no leaks!   February 14, 2010

I was worried about ordering this after reading all the reviews but I decided to take a chance. The case worked really well... No leaks at all!! The picture quality really wasn't affected either! I would tell anyone to take a chance and get this. I did do the tissue test first and then when I put the Flip in the case I left it in throughout the whole trip so I didn't have worry about getting the gasket dirty.

4 out of 5 stars Editorial advice.   February 6, 2010

I recently used a Flip video with an Aquapac underwater housing in the Sea of Cortez and it worked well though it was a little hard to get to the power switch. I found when editing the video that to compensate for my moving the camera around too much that if I used the "half speed" effect on Windows Movie Maker it made the video much less sickening to watch. Or just hold the camera as still as you can when shooting.
