Product Description The WP-DC28 Underwater Case has been specifically designed for the Canon PowerShot G10 Digital Camera and is waterproof down to the depth of 130 ft. (40m). This clear and durable polycarbonate case shields your digital camera as you explore your underwater surroundings. A tight O-ring main seal with safety lock, along with stainless steel and nickel-plated brass hardware, help to ensure protection from corrosion for years to come. A fluorite (FL) glass window gives your digital camera's high quality Canon lens the protection and clear view it needs to deliver crisp detail and vibrant color. A flash diffusion plate allows you to use your camera's internal flash.

Sooooo Cool - post trip update February 12, 2010 L. Allen (Odenton, MD United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What an awesome little piece of engineering! Of course, having said that, next month is the BIG test when I go to Hawaii, but I just used this waterproof case with my G10 this weekend during our "Snowmageddon" out here in Maryland and I am already thrilled with it.
I was very hesitant about spending so much money on what I thought would be a one-trick pony even though the Amazon reviewers convinced me that it would perform that one trick really well. What convinced me to buy the case? I go snorkeling about once every couple of years (but am trying to increase that) but didn't want to waste my time and money on those cheap disposable waterproof film cameras that give so-so results since this is the big once-in-a-lifetime HAWAII trip this spring. I also realized after a visit to the Rocky Mtns this fall, where I almost got caught in a freak afternoon rainstorm with my G10 all naked and vulnerable, that the waterproof case might very well come in handy for more than just water sports. I was concerned about how big the case would be and what the pictures would look like when the camera was used out of the water, but am pleased to say that it isn't too bulky and you really can't tell that the pics I took during the snow storm were taken with a camera inside a waterproof case. In fact, they really look incredible.
Cleaning the case is simple; however, I think the real test will come in Hawaii when I'm trying to get sand and saltwater out of the little knobs and levers. Will write more when I return.
FYI - gotta use the defector when the flash is in use; get a weird shadow if you don't.
5 April update - Case worked beautifully for snorkelling! I got some awesome shots - in and out of the water - and absolutley no catastrophic disasters! I did follow the directions and used the provided silicon gel for the "o" ring every time I put the camera in the case, and most importantly, I didn't remove the camera from the case until I was back in the hotel/cabin at the end of the day so that I could rinse it with fresh water and pat the case dry BEFORE opening the case and removing the camera. Worked like a charm; excellent investment that I will use again and again.
Great Value December 27, 2009 Jacqui K. Dillon (TX) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This housing is a great value. It cost about 1/3 of other housings but works fine. I have taken it on one dive trip and got in about 22 dives with it so my durability rating is based on that. The housing is positive buoyant so if you like your housings neutral or negative add quite a bit of weight. It is very positive so keep this in mind. I did not have a strobe on this trip and got some very good shots.

Waterproof case November 19, 2009 Delode (martinique) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very good item. I would have put 5 stars if the flood screen had been part of the box. Not a flimbsy detachable thin plastic.
How to use the scroll dial - Perfect for the G10 November 12, 2009 Andres Cordon 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
To use the dial all you need to do is hold down the "S" button and then press left or right (macro/flash)buttons and you are done... this is the way you can use the dial function with the camera inside the case!!!!!
I just wanted to add this information because i read on the other reviews everyone was complaining about not being able to use the dial function... the case is 100% a go!!!
A big reason to buy a Canon Powershot over others November 4, 2009 fishgeek (Atlanta GA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
First off, I love Canon Powershots because of the image quality and design and function. But secondly, I love Canons because they make the best underwater housings for most of their models. They are good to 130ft, which is better than most. And, really, most recreational divers would have little reason to dive beyond 130ft. I have taken it to as deep as 91ft. I shot some amazing video in addition to still shots, and everything on this housing works the way it should. The flash diffuser (the translucent piece that attached around the lens port) is very helpful in improving the quality of your flash shots by softening the light. For any recreational use, especially if you are a diver, this is a must have. And it is way cheaper than getting an Ikelite housing, for example. Unless you must have external strobes. I'll also use the housing when I am in adverse conditions, just to protect it sometimes. It's a bit bulky to bring with you on trips, but any housing would be. This one is pretty compact if you put it on that scale.
