Scott Kelby, the man who changed the "digital darkroom" forever with his groundbreaking, #1 bestselling, award-winning book The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers, shows which button to push, which setting to use, when to use them, and hundreds of the most closely guarded photographic "tricks of the trade" to get budding photographers shooting dramatically better-looking, sharper, more colorful, more professional-looking photos with their digital camera every time they press the shutter button.

Scott tackles the most important side of digital photography--how to take pro-quality shots using the same tricks today's top digital pros use (and it's easier than you'd think). Each chapter is packed with plain English tips on using flash, shooting close up photography, travel photography, shooting people, and even how to build a studio from scratch, where he demystifies the process so anyone can start taking pro-quality portraits today! Plus, he's got full chapters on his most requested topics, including loads of tips for landscape photographers, wedding photographers, and there's an entire chapter devoted to sharing some of the pro's secrets for making your photos look more professional, no matter what you're shooting.

4 out of 5 stars Digital Photography for Basic and Advanced   July 10, 2010
Renato Aranha (Sao Paulo, SP Brazil)
Definitely this box set is excellent for not only beginners but who is looking to take better pictures, even with point and shot digital cameras. I use a Nikon D5000 camera with 18-55mm and 70-300mm lenses and the results are getting better day by day. Each chapter of the books is dedicated to each situation you may have (landscapes, indoors, child pictures, weeding, flashes...), besides the recommended lenses and camera adjustments for each scenario.

5 out of 5 stars Scott Kelby books   June 6, 2010
A. Himmelright (New Canaan, CT)
A great set of books covering many photo topics including wedding photography, landscape photography, portraits and much more. Easy to follow, well laid out. I have many of his books on photoshop elements as well. All are highly recommended.

4 out of 5 stars You won't zone out reading these books   May 31, 2010
Mr. Paul S. Mcnulty (Australia)
These books are aimed at the slr beginner level of photographer. Each tip/lesson is contained on one page, so the concentration span required is not too long.

I would recommend this for those hobbists who have moved up from a point and shoot to a dslr and are wanting to know just how to use the new camera.

Scott uses every day language and mixes humor to help us not get bogged down in technicalities too much.

Recommended for those relatively new to photography and who want to learn more.

5 out of 5 stars The Book that I keep going back to   May 24, 2010
O. Awad
This was the first group of photography books that I read, and I read a bunch, it is a simply written great collection of tips and techniques, it has absolutely no theory (which is something I desired) and no scientific or strong compositional instructions, However it has an easy flow for a first few books and deep tips once you get really serious about photography as a hobby, I read the collections twice and got a lot in my second read (I thought I got all figured out the first time). Yesterday I bought a reflector and this was the collection that I reviewed to find out what are the best places to place the reflector. And it had it all. This collection is essential in the bookshelf for every new hobbyist photographer (if you are a professional I sure hope you know all what is written by heart otherwise you are in the wrong career)
