Excellent All in One for the price September 1, 2010 cameokid Quite a good all in one for the cost. I found the instruction manual stilted and convoluted as if written in a foreign language and translated into English. Using the disk on its own made it easy to follow and set up. I, as many others find it noisy and ratchety. BUT I have scanned old photos for my ancestry book and have found the results to be as good as the original especially the sepia tone photos. The copies of color photos are very good but less true to life than the originals. I have not used the system to print new photos. Would recommend highly as an inexpensive scanner, printer and copier. The one major drawback i've found is the low capacity ink cartridges. Given that I paid $40.00 for this printer, one more purchase of cartridges will make me question the cartridges purchase or buying another new printer. Perhaps that is why this printer was so inexpensive.... they kill you with the expensive cost of low capacity ink cartridges.
Great Little Printer for the Right Price August 28, 2010 J. Windham (Grand Cane, La USA) Bought this to replace my old ink jet printer that finally died. All I needed was a good, basic printer and that's what I got with this little gem. The first thing I printed on it were 120 double sided invitations with full color pictures. It did the job like a charm. Of course it completely drained the color ink cartridge, but I was expecting that since the invites had a LOT of pictures and color on them. The heavy cardstock invitations feed into the printer perfectly straight - no pulling to the right or left, and never jammed. I was using the "standard photo" level printing and was surprised how quickly they printed. I also really like the 'boarderless' printing option that allows you to print right out to the edge of the paper - something i couldn't do on my old ink jet. It might not be as quiet as a laser printer, but it's not loud either. I priced the print cartridges before I bought it, and they run about the same as all the other brands - not cheap, but certainly not the priciest either.
I'm very pleased with this model! I don't do a whole lot of printing from my house - the invitations were sort of the exception - so I didn't need a big, expensive printer. I don't know how well this model Cannon will hold up for a heavy user, but for my needs it's going to be perfect. And you certainly can't beat the price!
Review of Printer August 18, 2010 L. Haworth The product is good. Don't know about ease of hooking up as my son-in-law did that for me. He did say it was not the least user friendly printer he had worked with.
Cannon Printer August 15, 2010 Gary L. Grider (McKinney, TX, US) This printer works as well as a more expensive version I also have! So save the money, buy the cheeper one!
